Simpler-Tools: Slices to Notes

A fast and fun way to work with sliced loops in the new Simpler

Live 9.5 new Simpler’s Slice functionality is the perfect tool to work creatively with percussive and melodic loops. The “Slices to Notes” device aims at making this workflow even better, by allowing you to “stamp” the slices from Simpler into a new Midi-Clip that plays the sliced loop in the original order and tempo. From there, you can start getting creative:

Key Features

  • A simple button to “stamp” a sliced Loop in Simpler into a Clip (no manual clip creation or workaround via “Slice to new MIDI-Track needed)
  • Double or half the playback tempo of the clip
  • All functions are MIDI- and Key-mappable

  • Bugfix: Using “Slices to Notes” while recording a clip would record Automation for this device, which would create issues, once the Automation is played back.
